About
The Blair Atholl Area Tourism Association, http://www.blairatholl.org.uk/
was set up in 1992 as a direct result of feeling their area was not
being properly supported by the then national tourism body. So
the the Tourism businesses of Blair Atholl,
Killiecrankie, Struan and Calvine set up the Blair Atholl Area
Tourism Association (BAATA).
It started life funding itself every step of the way, with no
national or central government support. Perhaps because of this it
has an enviable ethos of being self sustaining and is
responsible for many events that take place in this area of
Highland Perthshire each year.
What is even more impressive is that almost every single
business involved in tourism in the slightest way, is a
member.
It must be one of the best examples of a successful tourism
association in the whole of Scotland.
