Moulin Hotel, Pitlochry
The Moulin Hotel is in the little hamlet of Moulin, on the outskirts of Pitlochry at an ancient Scottish waypoint, with important routes from Strathtay to Strathardle and from Dunkeld to Donavourd. In 903 AD, a Viking raid on Dunkeld resulted in a battle just over Moulin Moor where the local Picts defeating the invaders. In 1306, Robert the Bruce retreated through Moulin. In the 16th century, Mary Queen of Scots passed through Moulin for Blair Castle. A most worthy contender for that special Scottish highland holiday and short breaks the hotel’s little craft brewery adds to the spice and charm. The ales it produces are most worthy of a visit.
